Admins and Mangers can import a Test Case from either a .CSV or .XLSX file in QA Deputy. QA Deputy supports importing from 1 to 1,000 test cases.

To Import a Test Case

1: Access Test Suite Page

Either click on Products or Test Suites from the dashboard, or click Test Suites from the side navigation. All three options will bring you to the Test Suites landing page.

2: Choose Test Suite

From the Test Suites landing page, find the applicable product and click on the test suite you wish to import a test case from.

3: Expand Screen Options

Click on the three dots toward the top right of the screen (beneath the Back to Test Suites button). The dots will expand and display the following options: 1) View Archived Features/Test Cases, 2) Import Test Cases, 3) Duplicate Test Suite and 4) Export Test Suite.

4: Import Test Case

From the expanded display, click on the Import Test Cases option.

5: Choose File Format (CSV or XLSX)

Choose the format of the file you wish to import.

6. Choose the file you wish to import and click upload.

7: Match Fields with Pre-defined Test Case Fields

A Field Match screen will appear allowing you to review a table of the current columns and data, as well as give you the ability to match your field data with QA Deputy's pre-defined test case fields. Once you're finished with this step, hit upload to complete the import. Please note that this process may take a while depending on the amount of data being mapped.

8: Confirm Test Case Addition

A pop up will appear in the bottom right corner indicating the test case was successfully added. You can then find the new test case as a line item within it's assigned test feature. Note: You can easily clone and edit a test case to create similar new test cases by clicking on the plus sign boxes within each test case line item.
